Education in Bosnia and Herzegovina
The educational system in the country here is not only modern, but one of the oldest in the region. In fact, higher education has been present here since 1531. Some of these early schools are still present in the region today. Students who live here enroll in school by the age of seven. Primary education continues through age 14, which is compulsory. Students then move on to secondary school. Both levels are provided free of charge to students. Most students will enroll in a general or a technical secondary school.
